The 2016 Olympic Games took place between Friday 5th and Sunday 21st August in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Approximately 10,500 athletes from 206 National Olympic Committees competed in this year's event, and 42 sports were contested.

Our University also conducts world-leading research in Sports Science, including coaching, sport psychology and doping in sport. Doping is particularly relevant given the controversy surrounding this year’s Games.
