Welcome to Leeds Beckett University. You are supported in the Library by your Academic Librarian and by the Research Services team.
Once you have settled in, there are a few things you will need to do to get started with managing your research.
Symplectic - Our research management system records your research output and displays it on your staff profile page. It is also an important tool for the next REF and must be kept up to date. For more information and support please refer to our library help guide or contact us.
Induction - We are always happy to meet with you for a one-on-one informal introduction to our repository and Symplectic, as well as discussing Open Access and the REF. These sessions can be tailored to meet your needs and we can also provide group training, or you can book onto one of our sessions through iTrent.
ORCiD - This is a unique digital identifier that you can easily set up and link with Symplectic. For more information and support please refer to our library help guide or contact us.
When your research has been accepted for publication, you need to create a Symplectic record and upload your final accepted manuscript within 3 months of acceptance.
Your 'final accepted manuscript', sometimes referred to as your 'final author version', 'final author manuscript', or ‘final manuscript’ is the version of your work which:
Your uploaded final accepted manuscript will be checked for any embargoes, copyright or publisher restrictions by the Research Services team.
The final published PDF (the final version that appears on the Publisher's website) cannot be uploaded due to copyright restrictions.
