Symplectic

From 1st April 2018, all journal articles and conference proceedings (with an ISSN) should be uploaded to Symplectic within 3 months of acceptance, as mandated for the next REF. Please see our REF guide for more information.

Symplectic Elements is a research management system that collects all your research activity in one place. It makes it easy to maintain an up-to-date picture of research activity across the University and to make that research more visible online. Symplectic can be used to:

  • upload your accepted versions of publications to comply with the REF2021
  • manage publications, including those that appear on your staff profile
  • automatically retrieve bibliographic data from citation databases
  • easily import data from existing records (e.g. EndNote)

All members of staff have a Symplectic account which is accessed using your standard user name and password. PhD Students can request a Symplectic account by contacting openaccess@leedsbeckett.ac.uk
