Research Support

A range of support for researchers is available from the Library, including advice on information sources, open access publishing, journal rankings and metrics, and unique digital identifiers such as ORCiD.

Once you have explored the general information on these subject pages and the Library's Research page, please contact your Academic Librarian if you would like to book a one-to-one appointment to discuss the information aspects of your PhD, master's thesis or other piece of independent research.

Welcome to your Sports and Exercise Therapy subject pages

As your Academic Librarian, I have created these subject pages to help you to access high quality academic and professional resources and information. I also support your studies through:

  • Academic liaison - working with your course and School teams, alongside other academic and university staff, to ensure that the Library provides access to the resources you need.
  • Collection development - selecting, purchasing and developing relevant resources to assist and inform your work.
  • Teaching - delivering cohort inductions and specialist sessions on specific topics (e.g. referencing) at the request of course teams, as well as one-to-one appointments to assist individual students when required.
  • Research support – assisting staff and research students to make the best use of available sources of information.

If you have any comments or suggestions to make about your subject pages, please use the email address to the right of this page.

Other help available for Sports and Exercise Therapy

Remember that in addition to these pages on Sports and Exercise Therapy, you might also find useful information on other Library subject pages, which include information on Sport, PhysiotherapyHealth and Nutritionamong other potentially helpful options.

Information is also available on employability skills and skills for learning, with further advice on more general issues available from the Leeds Beckett Student Hub and the Students' Union.

Introduction to the Library

If you have not yet attended a Library induction, or just need a refresher on Library services, you may wish to view this fifteen minute tutorial, which offers an overview of the available support and resources, from how to access ebooks and journals to assistance with study skills.

It should help you to use the Library - but if you have any questions, please do contact us.

There is also an online tutorial to help with referencing.
