What happens if I lose my book?

If you lose or damage anything you have on loan please tell Library staff immediately.

If you don't find them you'll be expected to pay the replacement cost.

If your loans become very overdue without being reported as lost you'll receive an invoice for the replacement cost.

Returning books to the shelves

Our aim is to make sure 97% of returned items are back on the shelves within 15 staffed hours.

To measure our success in this we monitor the time it takes to do this over a number of weeks in the Spring of each year.

In 2017 97% of books sampled at Headingley Library were returned on time, taking 5.42 hours on average. 93% of books were back on the shelves within 15 hours at Sheila Silver Library, taking 7.34 hours on average.
