The Library

Staff

Welcome

Welcome to the Leeds Beckett Library web pages for University staff with information about how we can support you in your role at the University.

Each subject area has an Academic Librarian who gives advice on finding resources and keeping up to date and the University's Teaching and Learning Resources pages also provide guidance on how they can support your students, develop their skills and contribute to course planning.

Using the Library

Your staff card is also your Library card and allows you to borrow and place reservations.

You can borrow 25 resources - these are automatically renewed unless requested by someone else. Please see our Borrowing pages for more information.

As well as material to support the curriculum including online guides for each subject, the Library stocks computer games, fiction, films and newspapers. The Media Loans service is also located in the Library..

The Interlibrary Loans service provides access to resources not held by the Library and you can also access other University libraries via the SCONUL Access Scheme.

Printers and photocopiers are available in the Library as well as in your School. Copyright guidelines are available.

Staff support for IT is provided by IT Services (x22222). The Library supports students in their use of IT with web pages offering support on passwords, MyBeckett, Office 365, email etc.

Temporary IDs

If you require temporary access to the University network – on either campus  – the Library Advice and Support Service team can issue temporary logins. To request these, please email LLILASSTeamCity@leedsbeckett.ac.uk specifying:

  • The number of logins
  • The dates required
  • The reason for the request (eg placement student, visiting lecturer etc)

Please remember that the temporary logins you request are your responsibility and you should ensure that all visitors using them are made aware of our Use of Computers Policy.

Associate Staff

Associate staff have the same rights as general staff to access Library services, resources and systems such as the University network, email, MyBeckett and Skills for Learning. Access is only for the period that you are performing a role equivalent to University staff.
