Study Spaces

Changes to the study space booking system

From 12 April some of our spaces will offer 2 timeslots per day and you will be able to book shorter times to stay in the Library. This is in response to your feedback and will support us in giving more students access to our study spaces.

If you have any queries about booking spaces please contact us.

Study space booking

Study spaces in the Libraries are for individual use only and must be booked in advance. They are only available for students who are legally allowed to access campus:

  • studying on one of the designated courses
  • without alternative access to broadband or a PC/laptop
  • without adequate study facilities at home

Both Libraries are arranged into 'areas' with study spaces available in all areas. In general these are by floor and whether there is a PC available.

  • you can make a maximum of six bookings per week.
  • study spaces are for individual study only, no collaborative work or study bubbles.

Students who need to come onto campus can take two free lateral flow tests per week for Covid-19, bookable via MyHub. Full details are available on the University's Coronavirus webpages.

Please follow the guidance on hands, space and face whilst on campus and wear your face covering at all times, including whilst studying.

To book a space follow the links below. Follow the instructions and make sure you confirm your booking by clicking on the "Submit my booking" button at the end of the process. You will receive an email confirming your booking and a reminder 24 hours before your booking time.

Due to the current level of Covid-19 restrictions you won't be able to browse the bookshelves. If you want to borrow books please use our Click & Collect service.

If you have any questions, we’re always happy to help, 24/7; just use the Contact Us buttons on the right.

Virtual study

If you need to work in a group please use one of the collaborative tools available or if you miss working alongside other students you can join an online Study Café. They offer a space for you to focus on your own work in a friendly, informal environment with other students and supported by an Academic Skills Tutor. Book via MyHub.
