If you are a registered member of the SCONUL Access Scheme including Band R (Reference only) you can visit the Library if you have the 'Welcome to SCONUL Access' email with you or available on your mobile device, plus your student ID card. During the summer vacation you only need your student / library card from your home university to access the Library.
You can apply for free Guest User membership of the Library which entitles you to borrowing rights if you are a member of staff, postgraduate, part-time, distance learning or placement from a Higher Education institution (Band A, B or C) participating in the SCONUL Access Scheme.
You only need to submit a form if you wish to borrow books.
Please complete the Guest User registration form and upload your 'Welcome to SCONUL Access' email.
Membership lasts for a maximum of 3 years from the date of your application unless your course or contract ends earlier. Returning students; if you are still eligible you can reapply for membership. Please ask at your home institution for further information.

If you were working for the University when you retired you can apply for Retired Leeds Beckett staff Guest User membership.

Annual membership is free for up to 15 months after the expiry date of your Library account. After this, membership is £15 per year up to a maximum of 5 years after graduating. Thereafter it is £50.

Leeds City Council Executive Members and West Yorkshire Society of Architects Members must upload proof of your position within the organisation.
Teachers employed with Leeds Education Authority must upload proof that your school is in partnership with Leeds Beckett University.
Membership is for 12 months.
Leeds Law Society members can use the Library for reference – please bring a valid Leeds Law Society membership card.
Interim Guest User membership provides temporary access to Library services for individuals in between courses at Leeds Beckett University. Available during the summer vacation period, this scheme ensures that students transitioning between courses can still access essential resources. Please check back for more information on this service at the start of the summer vacation.

Guest Users can borrow 5 books, no Short Loans, audio visual resources or Interlibrary Loans.

These will be issued by the Library for up to 10 weeks unless they are requested by someone else. We will email you if your items have been requested so please check regularly.
You can reserve books from our Library or browse the shelves to find items yourself and issue them via self service machines on the ground floors of the Libraries.
SCONUL Access and Guest Users can use the Library between 09:00 - 17:00 7 days a week. Please note on Saturdays and Sundays you will need to phone Leeds Beckett Security on 0113 812 3154 for access before 11:00. Overnight access is for Leeds Beckett students and staff only.
Remember to bring your Guest User card with you.
