Microsoft Accessibility Tools

Microsoft provide a range of accessibility tools built into their products.  Many of these can prove useful to everyone.  For example if you have a lot of reading to do but are tired of looking at the screen you could use Immersive Reader to have the text read aloud to you.  More information is available on the Microsoft Accessibility web pages

If you use, or have been recommended to use Assistive software, you will find helpful information on our Library Disability Support webpage.  The information below is about free accessibility tools available within Microsoft Windows and Office, you may find these useful whilst you are applying for Disabled Student Allowance.

To get the most out of the accessibility features of Microsoft Products they work best when using Microsoft Edge as your browser.

Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher (Windows only), OneNote) for your Windows or Apple computer or laptop is available to download for free to Leeds Beckett students and staff. Find out more on our Download Microsoft Office page

The My Computer My Way website also provides step by step guides on how to make adjustments to your computer to make it easier to use.

The functions may differ between the online version of the application and the desktop version.
