The Library: Symplectic and repositories

Symplectic

Symplectic is a research management system that collects all your research activity in one place. It is an internal database of research records and is used to generate the list of publications that appears on your online staff profile and to provide reports on research activity across the University. It also allows files to be uploaded to the Repository, but no files are stored in Symplectic itself.

Symplectic can be used to:

  • Upload your accepted versions of publications to comply with the REF
  • Manage publications, including those that appear on your staff profile
  • Maintain an up-to-date CV
  • Automatically retrieve bibliographic data from citation databases
  • Store wider research and teaching activities such as journal editing or lecturing

All members of staff and postgraduate students have a Symplectic account which is accessed using your standard username (e.g. smith04) and password. If you have issues logging into Symplectic, please email us at openaccess@leedsbeckett.ac.uk

Before uploading files, please read the deposit agreement.
