Once through the entrance there is a main study area which covers most of the ground floor. The study area is split into group study and open access PCs.

To your right is a Welcome desk which is staffed. To your left are self-issue kiosks and an Advice desk where you can get help with library and IT related queries.

Halfway down on your left is the print journals area. Next to this are two student meeting rooms.

At the back of the study area to the right are laptop lockers. To the left of these is the Media Equipment Loans & Staff IT Service Desk. To the left of this is the Disability Resource Area and the stairs and lift are in the far left hand corner of the floor.

The second floor can be reached either by stairs or the lift in the far left hand corner of the library. When taking the stairs or the lift, turn immediate right once on the first floor and proceed through the door in front of you.

The floor is arranged around a main open access IT lab (JG250) with corridors surrounding it. The lab also contains printing facilities.

The corridors contain further IT labs which are also used as teaching spaces. A water fountain is also available at the furthest end of the floor from where you entered.

After exiting the lift and through the door in front of you, you will only be able to turn immediate right. Beyond this is a fire door which marks the end of the library space. No access is available from this corridor into the rest of the James Graham building except at specific times.

The corridors contain a mixture of student meetings rooms, group study space, a print room and staff offices.

There is a School Practice room in the opposite corner of this corridor. This houses materials used by students on teaching courses, and also contains study space.

JG123 is a teaching room at the far end of the corridor as you approach from the stairs or lift. Beyond this is a fire door which marks the end of the library space. No access is available from this corridor into the rest of the James Graham building.

The corridor continues around outside of the main book room and contains a selection of bookable student meeting rooms, and a print room containing printing, scanning and photocopying facilities.

Around the next corridor is both silent and group study space. At the end of the corridor is another staircase which leads to the second floor. There is no lift in this corner.
