The entrance to the Library is in the Leslie Silver building. From the main entrance to the Leslie Silver building, proceed straight ahead and down the stairs or ramp. The entrance to the Sheila Silver Library is in front of you.
Once through the entrance there is a Welcome desk on your right and further Library and Student IT support is available from the Advice desk at the back right hand corner of the room. A main study area covers most of the ground floor with two IT labs in the right and left hand corners. The Media Equipment Loans & Staff IT Service Desk is on the left hand side of the room.
Self-issue kiosks are available to the left as you enter the library.
At the back of the ground floor are laptop lockers on the right hand side. The stairs are approximately halfway in middle the floor, whilst the lifts are at the back of the room in the centre. There are two lifts available. There is an accessibility toilet to the left of them. Vending machines are on the left of the staircase towards the back of the floor.

The second floor can be reached either by stairs or the lift. You can turn either left or right. The floor is divided roughly in half between a book room on the left and other facilities on the right.
Turning left from the lift (right from the stairs) takes you through to the book room. The book room contains library book stock covering 600 - 799 (health, business and the arts). Study spaces and PCs are arranged around the edges. There are group and individual study spaces available.
Turning right from the lift (left from the stairs) takes you to group study areas, student meeting rooms, staff offices and toilets. Toilets are available through a door once you have turned right from the lift (left from the stairs). There is a water fountain outside them. Student meeting rooms are arranged around the corridor with Silent Study available at the back of the right-hand side of the floor. The Postgraduate Research room is next to Silent Study.
Printing facilities are in the centre of the floor in a dedicated area, with IT labs nearby.

The fourth floor can be reached either by stairs or the lift. You can only turn left (from the lifts) or right (from the stairs).
The floor has a Teaching Room and an IT lab at the centre, with corridors around these. Turning left from the lifts (right from the stairs) takes you along a corridor leading to staff offices, teaching rooms, an IT lab, and toilets. The toilets are at the far end of the corridor.

The book room contains library book stock covering 000 - 339 and 350 - 599 (psychology, sociology, social policy). Study spaces and PCs are arranged around the edges. There are group and individual study spaces available.
Turning right from the lift (left from the stairs) takes you to group study areas, student meeting rooms, staff offices and toilets. Toilets are available through a door once you have turned right from the lift (left from the stairs). There is a water fountain outside them. Student meeting rooms are arranged around the corridor with group study available at the back of the right-hand side of the floor.

The third floor can be reached either by stairs or the lift. You can turn either left or right. The floor is divided roughly in half between a book room on the left and other facilities on the right.
Turning left from the lift (right from the stairs) takes you through to the book room. The book room contains library book stock covering 800 – 999 (the end of the collection) (literary criticism, history and geography) as well as the Law Collection (340 – 349), journals and audio visual resources. Study spaces and PCs are arranged around the edges. There are group and individual study spaces available.
Turning right from the lift (left from the stairs) takes you to toilets, a silent study room, staff offices and the Disability Resource Area. Toilets are available through a door once you have turned right from the lift (left from the stairs). There is a water fountain outside them. The silent study room is at the back of the right-hand side of the floor. The Postgraduate Research room is next to Silent Study.
