Intellectual Property Office Ipsum - Online Patent Information and Document Inspection Service is a UK Patent Office resource which allows you to check the status of UK patents/patent applications.
Espacenet covers all GB applications published by the Intellectual Property Office under the Patents Act 1977, plus GB patents granted by the Intellectual Property Office since June 2002. You can also find patents from all around the world, including from the EPO (European Patent Office) and WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization).
The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) produces the Patent Public Search database with coverage from 1790 onwards for issued US Patents, and full-text from 1976 onwards. Google Patents also searches the USPTO.
Other search services include Patents.com and FreePatentsOnline.

The Building Cost Information Service provides cost and price data for the UK construction industry. School of Built Environment, Engineering & Computing staff and students can access this on-campus via MyBeckett and off-campus via RemoteApp.
This is the database for all publications from the British Standards Institute (BSI).
